The P525L uses HiTi's D2T2 (Dye Diffusion Thermal Transfer) print engine to produce continuous-tone, 300 x 300 dpi prints with a glossy or matte finish from the same media roll. It's a front-loading, roll-fed design, which means the printer can be reloaded without needing clearance behind the unit — a practical detail for tight photo booth enclosures or table setups.
The P525L was also the first HiTi printer to use RFID-tagged media. Each roll's RFID chip is read automatically by the printer, so the unit identifies media type and size without a separate media key or manual configuration step.
